our little hoosier
The term 'Hoosier' has a completely different connotation for our St. Louis friends, but for our Indiana family and friends it's almost a religion. People from Indiana are either die-hard IU fans or die-hard Purdue fans. There's no gray area.
Had to post one more photo, sans helmet, of Dylan sporting his first Indiana University apparel. Thanks to Aunt Julie and Uncle Dale!!

Well Aunt Julie says.....
Purdue who.....??????
He looks absolutely adorable in his IU outfit. That would be an Indiana University outfit for those of you who do not know :)
Hope this finds you all doing well. I know it's been a big stress to you all but you are doing a terrific job..Hang in there and oh by the way Happy Birthday - Mommy!!
Love,
Auntie J (GO IU!!)
Not that it matters one iota, but we St. Louisans use "hoosier" as a pejorative because of one or both of two possible historical catalysts. It's hard to say which is true: 1) In the 1930's, the brick makers in St. Louis went on strike and were replaced by scabs from Indiana, or 2) In the 1860's, confederate sympathizers from Indiana clashed with pro-Union militias in St. Louis.
Of course, the unadulterated cuteness of Dylan should overwhelm these sentiments. So, y’know, every time he comes to St. Louis, there is a chance to write these historical wrongs. Go Dylan! Champion of the Hoosier appellation!
Love,
Someone who ostentatiously uses big words
PS - Dylan looks a little like Doug Weight of the Carolina Hurricanes. Perhaps there's a Stanley Cup in his future?
Sigh.
I meant to say:
"Dylan looks a little like Doug Weight of the Carolina Hurricanes in his helmet."
Carrie - I see you have one of those seats that keep him from moving around. We do to but Isabel hates it and screams - so it sits in its box. She needs to be "free" apparently. Afraid of what that might mean when she is a teen ager.
Dylan is such a cutie.
